INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY AND COMMUNICATION AND GLOBAL DEVELOPMENT

The apparition and consolidation of a new economy, whose material base are the information and communication technologies, has important consequences over the global development. The international empirical evidence shows a growing inequality and social exclusion that live together with this extraordinary process of technological innovation and economic dynamism. This article analyses the connexions between new economy and the economic and social development and proposes a model of development based on the information and the knowledge that allows going beyond the structural global inequality.
