His impact on countries growth rates has been different, as a consequence of big differences between social structures and economic transformation channels. New economy is based on a large investment share in the GDP growth in those countries that belong to the technological innovation process.

In this article we first identify the fundamentals underlying the foreign direct investment abroad. In this sense we will be able to identify the main industrial and geographical differences among the different subperiods of the twenty century. Finally we conclude with the new geography of the FDI during the globalization periods.

This article tries to present a panoramic view of the socio-economic evolution of Canadian society, mainly from an economic viewpoint but not exclusively. Starting from the classification by the United Nations of Canada as the first country in the world on Human Development and its maintenance in this ranking for six years now, it is aimed at identifying some of the elements that lead to this satisfactory situation.
