The international tourist flows. Half a century of evolution
Revista:
32 - 2012
Autores:
David Flores Ruiz, María de la O Barroso González
Resumen:

This paper analyzes the behaviour of international tourist flows from the middle of the last century, in order to relate it to economic growth and international trade. Our hypothesis is that this type of tourist demand is flexible, if compared to other international exports, to recover from the successive crises experienced by the world economy.

Resumen:

Existing literature on the determinants of research & development (R&D) cooperation discusses mainly the factors which are specific to organization. But the issues of institutional environment in which such interactions take place remain relatively less explored. This study identifies some particular institutions such as ‘Research and Technology Transfer’, and the ‘regulatory’ institutions which promote R&D cooperation in a country.

Revista:

Autores:

Resumen:

High and persistent current account deficits in developed countries have long been the focus of research in economics. Many researchers who study current account sustainability use conventional unit root tests to investigate the mean reverting behaviour of the current account. In this paper we analyze whether the Spanish current account deficit is sustainable or not.

Resumen:

The purpose of this research is to analyze the evolution of tourism competitiveness at a country level over the last years and to quantify how this evolution affects tourism figures. The research hypothesis is: competitiveness of international tourism destinations influences tourism magnitudes. To test this hypothesis a mobility table was built and several indexes were computed in order to distinguish between static and dynamic countries.
