European Union (EU) with the aim to quantify its impact in the trade integration
process which started in 1992. The gravity model serves as a general framework

High and persistent current account deficits in developed countries have long been the focus of research in economics. Many researchers who study current account sustainability use conventional unit root tests to investigate the mean reverting behaviour of the current account. In this paper we analyze whether the Spanish current account deficit is sustainable or not.

Quantitative analysis of the economic impact of competitiveness on international tourism destinations

Resumen:

The purpose of this research is to analyze the evolution of tourism competitiveness at a country level over the last years and to quantify how this evolution affects tourism figures. The research hypothesis is: competitiveness of international tourism destinations influences tourism magnitudes. To test this hypothesis a mobility table was built and several indexes were computed in order to distinguish between static and dynamic countries.

This paper studies the level of integration within the european Monetary Union mortgage markets between 2003 and 2010, using cointegration analysis with panel data tecniques of national mortgage rates and their average. There are few cointegration relationships, therefore, in general, we found no significant level of integration in the mortgage market in the countries of the monetary union.

This paper aims to measure how the injection of money into the Spanish economy as a result of tourist spending contributes more or less to public income, job creation and new business opportunities depending on the air transport tourists choose. Input/Output (I/O) analysis is used to identify the Direct, Indirect and Induced Effect in both aggregate terms and also sector by sector.
